ILOCOS SUR FESTIVAL
Ilocos Sur, a province rich in history, culture, and natural beauty, comes alive each year with the annual "Kannawidan" which is always located in Vigan City. This annual celebration, whose name translates to "heritage," "tradition," or "custom" (derived from tawid, meaning inheritance). It specifically refers to a grand, week-long festival in Ilocos Sur, Philippines, celebrating Ilocano culture, arts, food, and history, usually held in late January to early February to commemorate the province's founding. It is a grand showcase of the province's heritage, traditions, and the warm hospitality of its people. The festival serves as a powerful attraction, drawing in tourists and locals alike to experience the unique charm and dynamic spirit of our Ilocos Sur. From colorful street parades to captivating cultural presentations, the Festival offers a glimpse into the heart and soul of this remarkable region.
February 12, The Annual One Ilocos Sur Night, personally, was a night to be remembered. It was a full blass of light and melody. I was with my closests friends: Aubrey, Klene, and Iyer, we arrived late at the venue so it was a crowded place but aside from that, the atmosphere was full of excited cheers and full of love birds. From starting the concert with Gov. Jerry Singson, that Evening had sounds of contemporary OPM artists like, Fitter Karma, Arthur Nery, Yeng Constantino etc. After the show off of the artists, the venue launch a fire works show at exactly at 12:00 AM, a perfect way to end the One Ilocos Sur Night.
