A. What are the learning/discoveries that I have gained?
In the first quarter, I learned a lot in managing my time due to a lot of homework, projects, and extracurriculars was tough because i was part of the students who had a mindset of "due to tomorrow, do tomorrow" but I discovered that using a planner and setting specific times for each task really helped or doing the given work after just gave it to you can really be helpful too. I also realized how important it is to ask questions in class. It's not about looking smart; it's about understanding the material. My teachers were really helpful when I asked for clarification on things I didn't get. Moreover, i discovered that unlike in the past school years, written works was not the key to getting honors but performances, specifically: recitation, participation, behavior etc.
B. What are the problems/challenges that I have encountered?
One of the biggest problems was procrastination. I kept putting off big assignments until the last minute, which meant I was always stressed and the quality of my work wasn't the best. Not to mention, there were a lot of test every other day. Another challenge was staying focused. It's easy to get distracted by my phone or social media when I'm trying to study, due to friends and family approaching me either to go out or play online games, which it really cut into my study time.
C. How did I address these challenges?
To fight the problems, I started using the Pomodoro Technique, which includes studying in short, focused bursts with small breaks in between. It helped me stay on task without getting overwhelmed. I also made a rule to put my phone in a different area when I'm studying. This simple step made a huge difference in my ability to concentrate. An example is one of our major subject which is Basic Electronics, In the last lesson i didn't really understand the lesson which i started watching tutorial videos online and joined a study group with some friends. Explaining concepts to each other made everything click a lot better. This way of approach enhanced my way of concentration and memory skill, which eventually helped me in the exams.
D. Moving on, I will….
Moving on, I will stick to my study schedule and not let myself fall behind and may be when things start to get hard again, i'll find away to modify my study schedule/method. I want to continue working on my focus and will try to be more proactive in class. I also plan to start the school works given as soon as they're assigned, so I can do my best work without the last-minute stress. My goal is to finish the school year, trying my best and with the honor role
Nice to meet you and i hope we can be friends
